Apparently my SM wants me to be a trainer??? (input would be appreciated)
So we've got this new guy who transferred from a cafe only store and today my SM asked me to shadow him on CS for a couple of hours. As she was delegating this to me she was telling the guy that she feels I'm really good at training and that she has me next in line to become the store's trainer. Not gonna lie, I kinda panicked a bit, lol.
Part of me feels like it would be kinda cool to be a trainer. I'm already coming up on my one year mark with the company (July 27th was my first day) and while I don't see myself being here forever, I feel like taking on a trainer role would be an interesting change to what has been a rather monotonous year at Starbucks. And I feel like I'm pretty good with following routines and standards compared to some people I work with.
On the other hand, I'm incredibly awkward and have really bad social anxiety. I get along with my coworkers well enough because I've already been around them long enough to feel somewhat comfortable with them, but with new people I just have the hardest time not making myself look like an idiot. I stutter and stumble on my words a lot, and just generally get tongue tied and embarrassed very easily. I'm constantly worried about whether or not I'm saying something the right way and feeling paranoid that the person I'm talking to thinks I'm stupid or weird.
So because of that I kinda don't know if training would be a good idea for me. Maybe I'd be better off just working alongside the green beans instead of growing them? (Heh...)
