Will games load faster on an external hard drive on Xbox One X?

Title.

I'm thinking of purchasing an external hard drive not because of space issues but because I hear they cut down on loading times.

Will this be the case with the Xbox one X as well, which is said to already have improved loading times? Probably not going to get one if it won't matter on the X
