[Discussion] Why do you think Spidey's symbol is white?

I think the symbol is white out of remembrance for Gwen Stacy.

We know that Peter is 23 years old and in college now, so I think the death of Gwen Stacy might have happened early on.

Some people have been saying that its white because of the symbiote, but I don't think that would make sense.

Thoughts?
