USB ports unresponsive after Windows 10 cold boot/restart [ASUS z270i mobo]
Parts list here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jdDyNN
I'm stumped here. I recently built a new computer using the asus z270i MITX board and everything seemed like it was plug and play up until I installed Windows 10. Everything works great until I restart Windows, at which point it seems almost as if all the USB ports just stop working.
I'm using a Logitech G710+ keyboard and Logitech G303 mouse. Both are backlit. During POST, they light up and function just fine. I can use them in the BIOS and everything. So it can't be a hardware issue. They even work during the Windows installation process. And they work when Windows boots for the first time too. But as soon as I restart the PC, it hits the Windows 10 login screen and both my keyboard and mouse are completely unresponsive. It is like this for every USB port. Doing a shut down rather than a restart is fine, BUT... when you turn off the fast boot feature in Windows 10 (the one that makes it so a shut down is a real shut down and not just like a hibernate) the same problem occurs. Bottom line is, it seems like any time a cold boot happens, every USB device on the board seems to become unresponsive.
Things I've tried:
-Uninstalling drivers and letting them reinstall for mouse/keyboard
-Uninstalling USB drivers from device manager
-Installing chipset driver/Intel Management Engine from https://www.asus.com/us/support/Download/1/50/8/20/qhJk6I9TOSW3CPwM/41/
-Disabling/enabling CMS in BIOS
-Disabling/enabling Legacy USB support in BIOS
-Turning off fast boot in BIOS
-Installing Logitech's peripheral software
-Checking/installing for Windows 10 updates
None of it has worked so far. I'm at a loss and I'm looking for the right place to find help. So any that you may have is appreciated.
