Joined you all over the past few weeks

A few weeks ago, I ordered a Pilot Metropolitan because I wanted to improve my cursive on a whim. I really enjoyed writing with it, as it felt very much like a step up in not just writing experience, but responsibility as well. I was very worried about dropping the Metropolitan on its nib, so much that I would cap the pen for 4 or 5 seconds in between turning pages of a book or the like. Around the same time, I decided to propose to my girlfriend (now fiance :D), and she had always liked the idea of getting me a wedding watch. Since I had just gotten into fountain pens, it crossed both of our minds to get an engagement pen so that we could sign our marriage certificate, and other important documents for the rest of our life. Enter the Lamy 2000. I chose the Lamy 2000 because it was mentioned all over the place as the kind of pen that would last you the rest of your life. It feels like a huge step up from the Metropolitan, but I enjoy writing with both. Yesterday, my sample pack of iroshizuku inks came in, and I inked up the 2000 with "shin-kai," and could not be more excited about the hobby. I LOVE taking care of things that will last a long time, and cleaning the pen and re-inking it was so therapeutic that I can see myself maintaining and loving pens for the rest of my life.

TL;DR: I bought a pilot metropolitan, got engaged -> Lamy 2000 engagement gift -> turned into another fountain pen schmuck like you all
