My true and horrifying experience
It was the summer of 2015. Me and my friends were playing the newest hit game of the year, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. We played all the other black ops games, so we were really good at it. Me and my friends were in the middle of a domination match, when this guy with a mic started raging and accused me and my friends of cheating because we were kicking his ass. One of my friends, Ivan, told him to quit whining and to deal with it. This just made him more mad and started yelling profanity and "insults" at us. This apparently drew the attention of other players, who turned on their mics and tried to get the guy to stop yelling and just play the game. The guy finally calmed down, and we ignored him. Then he challenged me to a 1v1 on Nuketown. I accepted his challenge, and told him it has to be snipers only. He groaned in annoyance, but accepted. My friends join as spectators to watch us. The first one to get 50 kills won. The guy was doing terrible, as it was 27 to 5. I ended up winning, with him having only 16 kills. This made him pissed. He shouted threats, "insults", and profanity at me at the top of his lungs. Me and my friends reported him, and got his mic banned for a year. A week later, I had my friends come over to hang out and play Call of Duty on my PS4. We were playing zombies when I get a message from someone named AwesomePlayer31 saying, "You reported me. You'll be sorry." Me and my friends just stared at each other and then burst out laughing. One of my friends, Ryan commented how ridiculous it sounded. After we settled down we resumed playing our game. It was like 11:30 and were on round 27. As soon as I opened the mystery box, we all heard a faint tap at the back door. I paused the game so we could all listen. Another tap came at the back door, but it was more noticeable. Ivan and I went to investigate. Ivan peeked out the window and gasped. I asked him what's wrong but instead of answering me, he pulled me back to my room and locked the door. I asked him again, and he told us that someone was in my back yard, but when he saw Ivan in the window, he ran to hide behind a bush. We could all tell he was telling the truth. I turned off the TV, and we all waited and listened... We heard a crash from downstairs. We assumed the intruder broke through the window. He was slowly walking through the house, opening doors. Then he walked upstairs and opened more doors. When he got to my bedroom door, he attempted to open it, but the lock stopped him. He then knocked on the door every 3 seconds, and eventually began banging on the door. Ivan suggested we climb out the window. We agreed, and slowly and quietly opened the window to escape. One by one, we carefully descended from the window. We were heading for the neighbors, which the closest one was a mile away, when the intruder slammed open the front door and started chasing us. We all booked it the road to the neighbors house. Ivan eventually turned to look back at the man and told us to run as fast as we can. We ran so fast I felt like I could pass out. We made it to the neighbor's house and knocked as loud as we could on their door, begging them to let us in because a man was chasing us. Luckily for us, they were already awake and let us in. Ivan locked the front and back door while I explained to them the situation. The man grabbed his shotgun, while the woman called the police. The man that was chasing us arrived at the door and banged on it while yelling threats. That's when my friends and I realized that the intruders voice was familiar. It was the guy who was yelling profanity at us online! This had gone too far. I asked the woman calling the police if their house had a balcony. She responded with yes. So I went upstairs and opened the doors to the balcony. I only did this so I could yell at the intruder to fuck off. It was stupid and risky, but it was worth it. The intruder continued to bang on the front door until the police showed up and arrested him. We all came outside to answer questions. After the questioning, me and my friends all stared at the man as he stared back with a look of hated. We all gave him the double bird. An officer then informed us that the man had a loaded gun. That's why Ivan told us to run faster. The neighbors called all my parents. My parents hugged all of us and thanked the neighbors. Luckily, my friends got to stay the night. Every time we hang out, someone brings up the incident and we all joke about it. So yeah, that's the story of how we almost died because of a game. I know this story is long and sounds far fetched, but it's all true. We never heard from the man again...
