I'm new to Radiohead.
I just started listening to Radiohead last week, with my previous knowledge of the band beginning and ending with Creep.
I started out with Pablo Honey, since it's their first album, and I have to say I really liked it a lot. So I was slightly disappointed when I listened to The Bends and found myself in a very different world from Pablo Honey. I didn't understand it, and honestly I didn't like it that much. Afterwards I listened to OK Computer and liked it even less. After that I wanted to see what the general fan base thought, and was surprised to see that Pablo Honey is almost unanimously disregarded and The Bends and everything after are almost unanimously praised. So I decided to sit down and listen to The Bends and OK Computer again.
And again.
So I just finished listening to The Bends for the fourth time, and I can safely say that it's masterpiece. All the pieces finally clicked, it felt like the first time I listened to Dark Side of the Moon. It feels like every note of every song was meticulously arranged in a tried order over and over until it was perfect. And on a pure emotional level it completely resonates with me and takes me on a trip. It's incredible. I love it. I also listened to Karma Police again and that's also fantastic. I'm going to listen to OK Computer again when I find the time.
Anyways, the point of this long story is that I gave something I didn't like a second (fourth) chance and ended up loving it, and seeing as all of you seem to like this 'something' in particular, I thought I'd share my experience with you.
TL;DR I gave a band you like a second chance and now I like them too.
