I cannot get this studying thing right. All I feel are bricks on my chest.

I am have begun a class that is on a topic completely outside of the realm of knowledge I am used to (I am used to humanities and this is a technical-based course).

I am out-of-sorts on so many fronts:

*(1) A place to study? I can only study in a hermetic library that has hours that don’t always jibe with when I need a place to study. In cafes,. I experience sensory-overload and become even more anxious and irritable than my usual self. I am in one now, and have become very annoyed with the man sitting across from me who is in his zone–why can’t I have that in such a place? Also, working at home is usually out-of-the question since my mom nags me.

*(2) How to figure out what to tackle. I feel steamrolled by the amount of information we get and the expectation to solve problems IMMEDIATELY after the lecture, when I much prefer “digesting” the lectures alone. I have files upon files that may or may not be in the folders they should be; and tabs that have no meaning to me anymore, no matter the intensity with which I searched for them was. There are so many resourcess for my course and I don’t know which topics and what resources to use.

I feel like I am being crushed. Any pointers on how to actually be able to focus on my work, instead of overwhelmed by all the things that I feel keep me from it would be much appreciated.
