Slim as a dvd play questions. (Mcboot?)

So lets start the story with me being bummed out. I recently installed a ps2 slim and a flatscreen tv in my truck camper with the hopes of watching movies in the mountains when my wife and I camp(also cuz I love MX 2002). But to my disappointment my ps2 doesn't play dvds. So I did some research and ordered a dvd lecture disk from eBay. After waiting patiently for the disk to arrive, I opened it up today and the ebay seller sent me a random game I've never heard of. I messaged him and he said. "I couldn't find the dvd so I sent you this instead with $2." So now movie night in the mountains is not happening tonight and that sucks a little.

I was wondering if I can download the lecture file, and update it via usb and free mcboot somehow. Any way that could work? Or another way that would work for tonight?

Thanks.
