Best game in fighting genre for fighting game noob

I'm organising my vita at the moment with my favourite game from each specific genre.

I have 'beat-em-up' type games on there - such as one piece and ninja gaiden, but i'm wondering which is considered the best straight up fighting game on the vita?

One caveat is that i have never been successful at breaking into these games. I definitely can't deal with memorising loads of combos.

Why would i want a fighting game then? ARMS on the switch has gotten be a bit of a taste for this.

Metacritic says DOA is users number one choice - probably because of the tittehs? Or is it actually a good game to get into.

Or would PS Allstars be something a bit more aproachable?

Thanks :)
