I'm new and I like Lisk

So, I've been doing some research on Lisk and it has some great potential. I'm especially interested in creating your own coin within a javascript web based application. Is the network reliable though? I recently just messed around with a faucet and Lisk network seems a bit slow...like...much a bit. Any info on that?
