Dating advice (?)

Hi folks! I need some help. I've (m/29) began dating a guy. He's really nice, and I hope we work out.

The problem is, I'm not very confident, and he is much more successful and attractive than I. Definitely batting above my league, imo.

Now, I know esteem issues are pretty typical (understatement of the year) of us avoidants. I've been able to find workarounds for some things by thinking of it differently. For example, I'm able to do public speaking because I think about how little I care about how public speakers perform when I watch and how millions of people do it regularly. I'm able to excel at work because I treat my work persona as a character or role I play. Stuff like that.

I was curious if anyone has any tricks like that to help with feeling insecure in dating? With constantly comparing yourself to your partner? Or convincing yourself that he doesn't hate you? I'd love to hear!

He's really cute, talented, and super sweet, and I don't wanna fuck this up!
