Suggestions for a mic stand that won't tip over?

I'm tall and have a big enough pedal board that the mic boom ends up extending quite a ways from the base. If I can't get the legs situated just right, the thing gets tippy with the heavy mic and if the stage has any bounce I can have real problems. Anyone know of a mic stand that's well-known for this type of a situation? Thanks for any help!
