How does a mid 2014 Macbook Pro (Retina) hold up today as a professional computer? $1000

Pretty much the title. I'm wondering if I should buy this barely used mid-2014 Macbook Pro, 15" Retina off my sister. I'll be using it for heavy browser usage, with some video editing and word processing.

Specs:

• 2.5 Ghz Intel Core i7
• 16 Gb 1600 MHz DDr3 ram
• Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB graphics
• 500 GB storage
• 15" Retina screen

At $1000, is this a good deal? I prefer to use Mac OS, but I'm not opposed to switching to Windows. Would really appreciate advice from the people who know! Thanks guys
