Buying NON-cruelty-free perfume/cologne second-hand ?!

Hey guys. I've been vegan for about 2 years, and have been successful in not only cutting animal cruelty out of my diet, but also out of clothing/cosmetics as well. Its easy to find great stuff that isn't tested on animals as far as makeup goes, but perfume/cologne is a different story.

Almost none of it is cruelty free. :(

It sucks because I love buying my (also vegan) BF cologne as a gift, and before going vegan I used to have a huge love affair with perfume.

I've found a handful of vegan companies, but they aren't in any stores near where I live, so I can't test them out. And scents are a too big an investment to not test. However, it is SUPER easy to find high-end scents like Chanel, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, etc. at secondhand retailers, like Ross/Marshalls, or at discount overflow sites like fragrance net and overstock.

So my question is:

How do you feel about buying non-cruelty-free from these types of overstock sites/stores? Is it still technically giving money to the company, or is it just an old stock that would be thrown out anyways?

ya girl wants to smell yummy without doing harm!
