Good Resources to Learn the Ins and Outs of Web Hosting Bottom-Up

Hello everyone, I am looking to learn the most major parts of web hosting and how clients and servers interact. I tried looking up a guide that'd pretty much start from nothing and build up to review most if not all important web hosting topics, but nothing came up.

Do you guys have any resources that would meet this need? Conceptual and project based guides are both fine, but free is a priority (if you have a book/resource that you have to pay for list it anyway, if I have nothing else I'll probably end up using it)
