Small issues with the ideapad 700

Hi, I was hoping someone on here could relate/help me out. The ethernet port is a little unfamiliar to me: I have to pull down a flap (?) in order to plug in the ethernet cable, and even then, if the cable is pushed downward the flap opens and the cable can be disconnected. i hope i am explaining this in enough detail, but am i doing something wrong? Also, this may be because I haven't treated my laptop with the most care, but the screen spazzes out for a second when I adjust it or bump into it. Is there a quick fix to this?
