Can't set profile picture

Hi everyone. Just started using Kik, and wanted to set a profile picture. But for some reason, I can't. Not using an existing photo, and not using the camera. After selecting the photo or confirming the taken one, I'm brought back to the menu.

I'm on Android, and have installed all the updates (save for Google Agenda). Rebooted the phone as well because I read that it could work, but the problem persists.

Any ideas?
