One More Light: Chester warned us?

I was shocked when I heard the news, I couldn't believe that one of my heroes just disappeared. I'm a big fan of Linkin Park and I watched them live just few weeks ago.

But I thought one thing: Chester's death and the last Album must be linked. I know, this could sound strange, it's just an ipothesis, I'm not saying it's true, but what if One More Light is deeper than we think? What if Chester warned us in some way of his suicide?

Let's analyze the songs (I will consider only the songs sung by Chester)

First of all we have Nobody Can Save Me. If we read the lyrics, Chester says that he's dancing with his demons and that he can't be saved. But there's a particular line that caught my attention, it's when he says "I'm HANGING off the edge". Yeah, it could be a coincidence, but it's a really strange one, right?

Then there's "Good Goodbye". Just the title itself is pretty self explainatory. In the lyrics there's still the presence of those inner "demons"

The third track is "Talking To Myself". At a first impression, this song isn'r related to suicide, but one line impressed me a lot --> "Lights are on but nobody's home". This could indicate that he could be dead, alone in his house

Battle Symphony... Ok, this is a pretty positive track, however, in this case too there's an interesting line: "Blood on the Floor, Sirens Repeat". It is just a supposition, but for me it means the police that arrives at his house and finds the dead body.

After Invisible, there's Heavy. The meaning relates to the singer's inner struggle, he is devastated by what happened in his life. "Why's everything so heavy?" he screams. One other important line is "If I just let go I'll be set free". Well, this could mean that with the death everything he will be free of that pain.

Let's analyze Halfway right. Pretty much the same thing. He's paralized by his pain and he is also kinda repented of what he did in his life, which had burned fast. He died in fact at 41.

One More Light: probably the most important track of the album, everything gravitate around this song. I know that Chester dedicated it to Chris Cornell, but what if he dedicated it to us? To his family and friends? One interesting thing that could relate to this fact is that during the live performance, he goes in the crowd singing this song. I've never seen a singer going inside the crowd and singing a song so beautifully and perfectly, as if he wanted to dedicate this song to his fans and the people around him. So it could be that it's not for the death of Soundgarden's leader, but it could be for the death of Chester himself.

The last track is Sharp Edges. This track is one of the most particular Linkin Park's productions and I think it is strictly related to the previous song. It's like he's saying goodbye to his children and advising them to listen to their mother, because their father will no longer be with them. It's like a circle that closes.

This is it. I feel like Chester had left clues all around the album. I want to say again that this is just my theory and it could be discussed. But I think also that Chester was a really deep person, so it could have sense that he left some hidden meanings in his songs. So that I would like to know what you think about it!

R.I.P. Chester
