I want to make a project for my portfolio, which path would be more valuable?
I'm going into my third year of CompSci in British Columbia. I'd like to finish a big project by the time I've graduated. The language we mostly use at my school is Java, so I'd like to try using a different language (Unless I decide to go the Android route). I've narrowed it down to 3 options:
- Create an Android app.
- Create a web app for a small business using Ruby on Rails.
- Create a web app for a small business using Python/Django.
I could of course do all three, but I don't know any of these frameworks, so it would be tough to master all three. If I pick option 2 or 3 I will most likely do option 1 on the side when time permits.
Which of these options do you think would benefit me the most in the job market?
