TIFU by Ruining $250 by Leaving Candy in my Pocket
I received a check in the mail for $250 and I went to my local bank to cash it, but the employee tells me that they don't cash checks over $100 without at 24 hold.. wtf, I thought, but I needed to buy some pot for the weekend, so I decided to walk down the road to my regular bank that was about 2 miles outside of town (I live in a rural community).
When I got to the bank, I noticed that they were doing a promotion involving a spin wheel for prizes. So I spun the wheel and won a tiny candy bar. I overzealously shouted "YES!" and the tellers thought it was funny so they let me "double down". I spin the wheel again and it landed on candy again. So one of the tellers told me to wait and she went into the break room and gave me a giant Reese's bar the size of a small book and I put it in my cargo shorts pocket.
I cashed the check, and since I forgot my wallet, I stuffed the cash into the same pocket I had put the candy bar. It was 92° out here today and muggy so I walked back in the heat to my dude's house. I go to pay him and and felt a sticky, mud-thick, goop in my pocket. I thought I had pooped my pants at first, but I then realized that the Reese's had melted and now twelve $20 bills and one $10 bill were covered in melted chocolate and peanut butter. So now I'm back home washing chocolate off of money with a sponge then blow drying them. Fortunately, my guy says I can come back when they're clean. XD
TL;DR I put cash in the same pocket as a giant candy bar and had to walk a long way in the heat to my pot dealer's house. When I got there the cash was covered in melted chocolate and he made me go home and clean it before I could get any.
