Family member claims to have seen the ghost of my father

Does anyone else get upset by this kind of thing? My mom and cousin were talking about seeing ghosts of loved ones today. I know that some atheists believe in ghosts but I'm not one of them, and to hear my cousin claim to have seen my dad just got to me. I wasn't necessarily angry, but I had to go outside and have a good cry about it. I don't know why it messed me up so badly. I thin it's just the idea that I'll never even be able to convince myself that my dad is watching over me or something like that, while they so easily can, fucking kills me.

I just wanted to know if anyone else can relate to this because honestly I feel silly as hell.
