Hate the concept of family

I absolutely despise the idea that family is the "most important" thing in someone's life. Besides having common genetics, there is no reason for me to be obsessed over them. Family gatherings are the worst, because I have to pretend to enjoy their company when the majority of them are idiots. If I want to hangout with a person, I want it to be someone I like - not someone I am forced to like.
