144 Hz monitor, high temps and fan speed

Hey,

I just bought a 144 Hz monitor, and my fan speeds are through the roof now, even though I have the SAME fps (even lower). I used to play uncapped at 250 fps, now it's capped at 155 and my fan runs at 70% speed when I play. Any idea why?
