Need a reliable car for commute to work & occasional long distance trips..?

Hi all. I've previously owned a 2000 Taurus, and a 2008 Impala..both of which gave me lots of problems. I want a reliable car, that hopefully won't require lots of major fixes and will last me a long time.

I drive locally, 40 minute round trips to work 5 days a week. About 10-12 times a year I take an 8-10 hour round trip.

I'm looking for something no higher than $11k, with less than 50k miles, 4 doors, and 2015 or newer. Sedans are preferred, but hatchbacks are fine. Not even sure if these are realistic with the type of car needed, which is why I'm asking for help! Thank you!
