Traveling to Carbondale or Makanda, Illinois from Indiana. When should I head out?

Usually it takes about 4 hours and 30 minutes to get there from where I'm at but considering the amount of people that are also going to be doing the same, what time do you think I should head out? I was thinking of trying to be there by Sunday morning.
