My MtF girlfriend's first hormone-iversary is today and she was misgendered at her favorite restaurant. What can I do for her as a pick-me-up?
I'm a trans guy. My girlfriend and I have been together for 4.5 years. I came up to her place to visit her and celebrate her 1yr, and we went to her favorite restaurant to eat. The woman serving us "sir"ed my girl--she apologized, but she's understandably still really sad. She's been feeling really good about herself lately, and I feel terrible that this happened on such a special and important day for her.
We're currently eating snow cones (I surprised her with sprinkles and ice cream in hers) and we're going to see a movie soon. I'm trying my best to make her feel better in any way I can.
I was wondering if there were any trans women comfortable with giving input for what they'd want from their partner if something like this happened to you on such a special day?
Thanks.
