Have $800-$1000 to spend on CPU + Mobo. Primarily gaming, but multitask on 3 monitors. Recommendations?
###Build Help/Ready:
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
Primarily gaming (specifically it is currently Black Desert Online, Starcraft 2, League of Legends, but I am interested in other next gen MMO's). I run three 1080p monitors, though I will likely upgrade the main monitor to 1440p 144hz or 200hz. On the right monitor, I run discord. On the left monitor, I run my web browser which is often streaming (e.g. watching - I am not a streamer) HD video and other tabs open. In the background I usually have a spreadsheet or some other random application up. This is 100% of how I will use the machine. I will not upgrade this machine again for likely 5 years (other than maybe the GPU), so it must be future-proofed. I will be running a single 1080ti, probably the EVGA hybrid with AIO water cooling.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
Single monitor 1440p 144hz / 60-120 FPS (obviously more is great) / Ultra Settings
What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?
My question is specifically recommend me a motherboard and CPU. I can spend between $800-$1000 on just these two components (total). I'm currently considering i7-7820x with the cheapest EVGA/Giga/ASUS board (just familiar with those brands), as I won't be OC'ing and I won't be running SLI. However, I've heard of issues with heat with the Skylake-X. Understand I'm sacrificing 4 core performance to have 8 cores, but it makes sense to me from a future-proofing sense and the fact I have 3 monitors doing shit simultaneously. Not opposed to Ryzen, just seems like 7820x outperforms if you acknowledge you are overspending in terms of price per clock speed.
