"Tab" key indenting too far and not saving settings

As the title says, currently when I hit the "tab" key, it indents the cursor 5.05". When I open the "Tabs" setting, I can set it to .5" and "clear" the 5.05", and works once, but as soon as I click somewhere else on the document it reverts back to the 5.05" setting.

Any reason it won't save the setting?
