Super Slim Ps3 wi-fi / bluetooth failure

after reading a few posts, i have seen that they are a singular module, but are they really attatched to the main board? and if so are there any fixes at all, other than replacing the motherboard? its one of those things that i could learn to live with, but i really dont want to.
