This is my attempt at a rework of the druid, some of you may have already seen my first iteration, which received mixed feedback. If you were one of the ones to provide constructive feedback, thank you for your help. There is a bit of a description at the beginning of the document, but a summary follows.

The overall changes I am attempting to address from the phb version are:

  • Wildshape is too major a part of the base 5e druid for my taste. My goal is to de-emphasize wildshape as a core feature, while leaving the wildshape archetype largely the same as the PHB.
  • There is no animal companion archetype available.
  • There is no half martial available in the vein of valor bard or bladesinger wizard.

The changes from my previous version are essentially:

  • With wild shape removed, there weren't many core features left besides spellcasting. In order to address this, wildshape has been returned as a long rest feature, and additionally some nature features have been added to the core.
  • Having the 18th and 20th level features be archetype specific detracted from the class cohesion, but the phb features are not compatible with the goal of de-emphasizing wildshape. To address this 18th and 20th level features have been added to the core which will hopefully be more archetype agnostic.

I'm interested in feedback regarding balance, in particular of the animal companion circle since I have neither DM'd nor played in a game with either the PHB or revised beastmaster, so my estimation of it is purely academic.

If you are going to say something about the druid being wildshape; If you mean it should be wildshape: This idea is not aimed at you. (although you should be able to play the moon circle with minimal change) If you mean the PHB version is centered around wildshape: That is in large part what I am trying to revise.

Thanks for looking and any assistance!
