Suggestion: "hybrid" ball camera mode

In my experience there are three basic tiers of Rocket League camera usage:

  1. New players. Literally never change their camera mode. Often have ball cam off because they haven't yet learned it's an option.
  2. Semi-experienced players. They use ball cam most of the time. They know they should turn it off for some situations, but they're not adept at switching camera modes during fast-paced action, so they use ball cam way more than they really want to. This leads to some frustrating situations where they either fumble with the camera or play with hindered awareness.
  3. Experienced players. They switch camera modes swiftly and effortlessly.

This suggestion is aimed at group number 2. A third camera mode, "hybrid" cam, which most of the time behaves exactly like ball cam. But the closer the ball is to being directly overhead, the more your camera acts like you've turned off ball cam.

If you're carrying the ball on top of your car, it's exactly as though ball cam is off. If the ball is X meters away from your car, it's as though ball cam is on. Anything between the two is "between" mode where your camera points somewhere between directly at the ball and the direction you're driving. The transition from ball-cam-on-mode to ball-cam-off-mode is smooth and seamless.

This camera mode wouldn't be perfect. If the ball is flying directly overhead and you want to aerial for it, you'll have a hard time because you're in ball-cam-off mode. Players may see this as a worthwhile sacrifice because many players lacking camera mode mastery probably don't/can't effectively aerial for balls directly overhead anyway.

(Yes I know players could just hurry up and get gud, but please consider that some of us have jobs and kids and stuff and would rather play carball than practice-effective-camera-management-ball.)
