Anybody here commute via bicycle? Looking for some tips

Sorry if it's not the right sub, but in the effort of continuing to improve my health I figured I'd start here.

I live in South Florida, and for reasons that won't do much but add unnecessary length to this post, I'm thinking about getting a bike this weekend to commute to work. (Google maps shows about a 26min bike ride)

My only concern, and idk how many of you deal with this, I have a company laptop and work in an office environment.

Chances are I'd wear regular shorts and stuff to bike there, change when I got in. So I can easily their my laptop and a change of clothes in my backpack and bike to work.

The concern though, is rain. I'm looking for some tips or advice on such. Its South Florida. Lots of rain, and totally unpredictable. I'm worried that I might get caught in torrential rain and my work clothes and laptop get soaked.

How do folks handle this? I could care less I'd my biking clothes get wet, I'm changing out of them when I get there and have 9hrs til I gotta put em back on.

Any words of wisdom appreciated.
