My Father is not rebounding after surgery.
Long story short, my Father had major surgery in April. He cannot eat or drink because he is an aspiration risk. He is still draining and is weak due to lack of nutrition and has a big bedsore on his backside. He is back at the hospital and the nurse spoke to my Mom and Dad together about him going to hospice. I realize that there may be no hope at this point. My Father, who is lucid said that he is not ready to go. I am having a hard time thinking about him dying. I realize I must face the fact. I need advice on how others have dealt with the death of their parent. I am not handling things very well.
