How do you convince old people? (parents?)

My parents are very conservative. But I don't think they have to be. My dad actually likes single payer and bernie Sanders. He said the only person he ever voted for and believed in was Carter. My mom is a teacher and believes in the importance of education. Her father was a civil engineer who worked for the state. His favorite politician is FDR.

If they aren't thinking in political terms they'll espouse some pretty leftist things but once they become self aware of the "leftiness" they pull back. My mom unironically complained to me about "socialism".

Cth has been useful to me because it provides an alternative to the smug elitist neoliberalism. But my parents aren't the type to enjoy crass humor. But they are the types who need an alternative to Clinton liberals.

Any advice?
