issue with temperature control on the pax 3

i just purchased the pax 3 from the website (i haven't even smoked out of it yet) and i'm already having an issue. when i hold down the button to change the temperature it just shuts off the device, meaning i can only change the temperature from the app. Any way i can fix this?
