Alternatives to expensive brands

I'm wondering what popular items from companies like Patagonia and North Face have identical items from cheaper brands that perform the same or similar enough to get the lower cost.

For instance, I've been wearing a fleece jacket made by Peckham for years, because it was the same as the North Face but less than half the cost.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I'd just like to rebuild my gear list without breaking the bank.
