Suggest a game where you program your forces.

Hey guys, I'm in the process of teaching myself programming (step .5 right now) and I would like to find a game that will help me get into the spirit of things. Any game where you have to program a units actions, be it a fighting game, a strategy, or whatever. Bonus points if the game will play on a mac!
