Why is there so little buzz for Grundstrom and Rychel at left wing?
When going through off season posts for future lines and prospects for left wing, I haven't seen Grundstrom or Rychel's names come up too often. This past year, Rychel lead the Marlies in scoring (red hot in the second half) and was named to the AHL all star game, where he came in second for hardest shot (99.1 vs 99.3). Kapanen and Leipsic had better points per game, but Leipsic is gone and Kap plays RW. Grundstrom was 8th in scoring on his SweHL team despite being only 18 - everyone higher was at 3+ years older. He added 4 points in 6 AHL playoff games. Even if neither of them crack the roster this year, I could see them being important NHL level players in the long run. Is there any reason they haven't been talked about as much as LWs like Leivo or Fs like Sosh, Goat (etc...)?
