How to get better at Conquest and Operations?

I used to mainly play Rush in BF1 (it's my most played game-mode by far). I was pretty decent, ~65-70% winrate without a coordinated squad I joined with, maybe a ~1.5KDR or something. I usually wound up at or near the top of the scoreboards, too.

But Rush is pretty much dead on PC now. I haven't been able to find a Rush match on Eastern US servers in around a month now, so I decided to branch out some, and try Operations and Conquest.

I suck. I went from at or near top of my team, to being lucky if I wasn't in the lower 5 people on the scoreboard. I've had a good match if I get 2-3 kills, and I have a 20% winrate. What is so different about CQ and Operations that causes this huge difference?
