Tough situation with a hiring manager

A little bit of background, I just received my Masters and got a referral to a job in my field and almost immediately got contacted by a recruiter and my information was sent to a hiring manager and scheduled a date to do a phone interview. The thing is the person never called and then sent me an email to reschedule. This I understand as things happen, things come up. But two weeks later this has just just happened for the FOURTH time. I definitely need a job right now and I also don't want to disrespect the person who referred me. I do not know what to do at this moment.
