I'm broke, my car just died and i don't know what to do. Advice?

So my fucking awesome, got me everywhere with (almost) no problem car bit the dust. It was confirmed today and with no savings i feel totally fucked right now.

My credit isn't good. My work history is, but my job is 17 miles away plus 3 kids. I've had my break down about the car dying but what the hell does one do when they must have a car but affording one, at least the initial cost seems impossible.

I don't have family to get rides from so again, i have to have a vehicle. Sigh. I'm so broken. Any advice?
