6 mo scratching and pinching me

I'm not sure how to stop it. I tried giving him a toy, I tried mittens but it's in the tripple digits here, saying no and removing his hand (which resulted in him learning cause and effect super fast) so he actuchaly did it more. Now I'm putting him in his crib for 2 min at a time each time he does it but he just screams and does it all over again. He really digs his nails in, yes I cut them. He also pinches. He's like a little crab! I'm not sure what to do. He's only 6mo so I'm not happy to let him cio.

Any ideas?
