Thoughts on the Shining Legends? (Video)
I picked out a few of the cards from the set "Shining Legends" to talk about in my new video, but am still unsure as to their actual viability...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6n76wHfCfM
a few of the cards do seem rather promising, namely: Jirachi, Hoopa, and the new TurboRai duo (Raichu + Raikou)
but... I feel most of these cards are supplementing decks that aren't doing so well in the meta right now.
-
TurboRai is heavily punished by Garbodor, as it runs many field blowers, and punishes item based acceleration.
-
Hoopa may aid the dark side of this, but would it really be enough for Darkrai to see play again? Maybe with the inclusion of Darkrai-GX, we could see a more reserved version of this deck in the future.
-
Jirachi, I feel, could be fairly useful in the right deck. We already see Espeon-EX being played... and this card is not far off.
One thing this card does provide, however, is 10 damage. While that's not a lot, you could potentially OHKO a Garbodor. Kukui + Fighting Fury Belt + Weakness... Adds up to 80 damage. That's just enough to knock out the Trubbish, after it de-evolves~
(Alternatively, you could knock it out w/o the FFB, if it's been damaged by Rainbow Energy)
This card could also be really interesting in a deck with Necrozma, where you use the GX attack, and then de-evolve your opponent's Pokemon. This will take KOs on things like Decidueye, Ninetales, Eeveelutions, etc.
Anyways, just wanted to hear some of your guy's thoughts on the new cards; there's definitely some potential here!
There are more cards that I talk about in the video, but those probably won't see play... Also, honorable mention to the Celebi, Venusaur, and Volcarona cards~
