how can I finish games as jhin?

I'm stuggling winning games as jhin (or any adc actually), my question is, some champions win by focusing on split pushing, others by focusing on securing objectives, how can I win a games as jhin? Is it by having a really strong laning phase,is it by helping in team fights...?...
