gays travelling to morocco?

my boyfriend and i were planning on going to morocco for a week in the fall, but we're beginning to have second thoughts. we've always wanted but a little part of us is afraid that something might happen to us. we would obviously be very discreet in public. we would be staying in marrakech but definitely wanted to spend a few days in the sahara. if we did decide to go, would we be fine staying in one room with 2 beds or would we have to book 2 seperate rooms? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
