It is coming up to new Motherboard time, but should I just upgrade my entire PC?

Build Upgrade

I recently had a slight issue with my PC being unable to run 24GB of ddr3 RAM so i decided to trouble shoot why and it looks like a few pins (3 maybe 4) on my Motherboard are slightly bent. I still have the PC running on 16GB of ddr3 RAM but it is running 8GB per channel not 16GB on one if that makes any sense.

With me noticing that the pins are bent on the Motherboard I am now wanting to replace it out for a new one but here is the part I am struggling with. I have an I5 processor that fits in to the 1150 socket's so the motherboard that I would need would have to be an 1150 socket again to use all my old parts, or do I just upgrade my Motherboard and CPU and any other parts etc.

  • My current set up is:-
  • Motherboard Gigabyte h97-d3h
  • CPU i5-4670 @3.4GHz
  • Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212x plus 8 aditional 120mm fans
  • GPU MSI 970 4GB GDDR5
  • RAM HyperX FURY 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 1866 MHz CL10 DIMM
  • SD SanDisc 120GB
  • HD Western Digital 1TB and Toshiba 2TB
  • PSU corsair cx750
  • Case Zalaman Z9

What i am aiming for is a mid to high end PC again, 3 years ago this was considered a reasonable gaming rig now it feels a little budget basement, I also do a little video editing and PS as well as gaming and frequently multitask.

I am hoping not to spend more than I need to, but I don't mind spending up to £750

All parts will be getting purchased from the UK

If anyone needs to know more feel free to ask.

So yeah does any one have any ideas on what i should do?
