In Chicago for Go Fest, can't play due to constant crashing

This is the first time I've played in a big city and my app is constantly crashing on an iPhone 6. Playing from launch, I've never seen anything like this.

Any city players able to give some tips?

It does seem more stable on wifi, but it's very hot and miss.
