Do I Need . . . ?

So I want to buy chivalry on the Xbox360, I only want to play offline. I read that can be done by going to create game - offline. My question, do I need a gold membership to click that create game? Some games won't even let you into a multiplayer menu without your account being gold or ps+. I already pay PS+ yearly so my 360 is mainly single player. Will I need gold to play offline?
