[Secret] A letter from the dead

The rain seemed like an appropriate companion on the errand Alvin Venetiaan would be taking that day. He was going to visit his grandfather's lawyer to finish the final step of his grandfather's will. When his grandfather, Ronald Venetiaan, had died in 2022, he had left a letter for Alvin to receive on his 36 birthday.

He arrived at the lawyer's apartment and knocked. "Hello, Alvin. I am glad to finally be able to hand you the letter Ronald left for you. Come in," said the lawyer. The two men walked into the apartment. They sat on the couch. In front of the couch there was a small table, which had a small chest on top of it. Alvin recognized it as the chest his grandfather had left for him.

The lawyer took out the letter from the chest and handed it to Alvin.

From Ronald Venetiaan to my grandson Alvin. To be read on August 7^th 2024, his 36^th birthday.

Hello Alvin. By now you must be wondering what I had to say that I couldn't before. In the final months of my life, I visited many countries in South America, and throughout my life I also visited much of Europe. I've seen capitalism, communism, anarchy... and fascism. I think I have seen it all.

I can say that I honestly believe that fascism is our only hope, our nation's only hope. Our nation has had tremendous negative change in its economy for many years now. And our president is doing nothing to improve it.

You must expose our president for what he is, a MURDERER and a liar. You must show our nation that the Venetiaan family is the going to raise Suriname into a glorious future full of hope and wealth for our nation.

I know, fascism rarely results in wealth for the everyday man, but we will be different. We will create a fascist state in which everyone is well to do.

If you have followed the plan I layed out for you when you finished high school, you should soon be appointed Minister of Justice and Police. You must begin a new investigation to show Suriname, and the world, that our president is indeed a murderer. Contact the Netherlands, I believe he was found guilty of some crimes there.

Alvin stepped out onto the street. He had a smile on his face. "My grandfather would be proud, we are ahead of schedule," he thought. He got into his car as his chauffeur opened the door for him. A newspaper was waiting for him on the seat. "Good morning minister," said his chauffeur.

[M] In case I didn't make it obvious, Alvin is already minister of justice and police.
